SER Learning Academy & SER YouthBuild Learning Academy
GED CERTIFICATE
The SER Learning Academy GED Program for ages 18-24 is facilitated by a certified instructor that uses face-to-face teaching with alternative scheduling available (including evening classes), Google Classroom, EssentialEd, Zoom, Podcasts, and other means of technology to engage students in an innovative learning experience.
The GED/HSE (High School Equivalency) test is made up of four subjects, divided into seaprate exams that are timed:
- Mathematical Reasoning (115 min)
- Reasoning through Language Arts (150 min)
- Social Studies (70 min)
- Science (90 min)
GED Ready Practice Tests are available in each subject area to determine a student’s readiness to take the test and identify any academic skills that require additional support.
If eligible, all young adult programs are completely FREE and are earn-as-you-learn.
Support services available to those students working to obtain their GED may include:
- In-person and virtual tutoring.
- Assistance with obtaining an official ID card.
- Transportation assistance.
- Child care assistance.
- Monetary incentives.
- English Language Learners assistance.
- Exceptional Learners assistance.
- Additional services based on individual student needs.
Once a student receives a “green light” on the subject area practice test, the instructor will schedule the GED test. To make testing easier to access for SER Learning Academy students, our campus at 5200 Stecker in Dearborn has become an official GED Testing Site!
